I drive a 2001 silverado that has a 5/3 drop. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2439351  ... I am interested in maybe putting a topper on it and bagging it. If I bag it I want it all done right, no real cheap stuff! My question is how will it ride once it is bagged. Some tell me don't bag your everyday truck, which it is. Is this true, will the truck ride like **** when it comes to comfort. It's already dropped and I don't think it rides too bad. Also how much will it cost to bag the truck. How much would a full, good quality kit cost to bag my front and back, and how much would a shop charge to do all the work for me. I also see some trucks bagged that have a raised bed so everything is hidden, and some that just have huge wheel wells in the bed that everything is hidden in ex: http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticles/0612st_2002_chevrolet_silverado_bagged_truck/photo_23.html . Is it expensive to do it like this. My girlfriend won;t let me bag it until we find out how it will ride! PLEASE PLEASE HELP........
lemens words please

Sounds like you need a new girlfriend. =). Seriously though, if this thing is your daily driver and you're asking for an opinion - I'm probably leaving the thing with a decent drop and not messing with bags. I like the way your truck already looks.

But, to answer the question - when done right - bags probably aren't any worse than the drop kit you have on there. Just be sure to use a good shock with the bags to help improve the ride. As for the install - hiding everything can be accomplished without raising the bed. You can mount longer, but smaller tanks along the framerails or where the spare tire usually mounts underneath the bed.

If you're still really interested in pursuing bags - give the guys over at EAI a call and tell them the guys at Lowrider Haven told you to call. They should be able to talk you through a good setup and give you a cost estimate. They even have a list of shops that install their products - so you might be able to find someone locally. Other than that - you just have to check around and see what others charged. The alternative - if you did the lowering kit yourself - you can probably do the bag setup yourself. Most kits are generally bolt-on and are pretty easy to setup - unless you're trying to get wicked crazy with the design.
