kitarista -> air bag question (9/19/2002 4:11:00 AM)

What is the highest lift i can get from using air bags or air cylinders.Im looking for a 8 to 10 inch lift, does anyone know if this is possible.also, are bags better than cylinders or worse.

Depending on the bag you can get about 6-8 inches of lift. If you're wanting more, you may want to consider hydraulics.

As far as the air cylinders, I have never personally had experience with them. Depending on the application, people us cylinders. Most struts, etc. But I've heard of loss of ride quality and having to rebuild every so often. (Just what I've heard)

It depends on the car or truck that you use them on. There are cantilever systems that you can use to add to the lift in a set-up.

Right. Out back on most truck applications, a 4-link is nice for some extra lift.

I just purchased a 1996 cadi deville fwd. I want to install an airbag or air cylinder system that could operate at fast speeds. What brand should I go with If I want quality and performance?

I deal with AIM right now but Im in the process of working with a few other companies. Your going to need an air strut set-up. To get a fast lift and dropping set-up, your going to have to deal with high pressures so higher qaulity parts will pay in the long run. dean www.speedworldny.com

You don't want AIM....No matter what you do, do NOT get AIM, they have the worst products ever. They NEVER fit, they're horribly made, and they have horrible customer service!

speedworldny -> RE: air bag question (10/29/2002 9:08:00 PM)

I havent had any major problems with AIM. Ive heard other people say that as well, but weve done alot of business with them and they go out of the way to help me, so Ive been happy. I have accounts with EAI, Air Ride technologies, and am working on a few other companies as well. Who else should I get in touch with as far as kits go DONJUAN. thanks dean

can i use hydro-cylinders with my air ride system.im looking for an 8" lift and i dont want to use bags.
the ride quality doesnt matter to much.

Cool Cars out of Louisville, KY is where I get all my hydraulics, but I have heard numerous good things about their air kits as well....Personally, I get all my air equipment through Master Image Customs...A lot of that is custom work though, as far as brackets, etc.

I just got done baggin the ass end of a 90s10, we put our 6link cantilever on it and it gets 18" of lift. IT is 100% bolt on! its badass, they fit any s10, if anyone wants one, they are $920 shipped, they are bolt on, come with alll tubing, new rear shocks, and rear bag brackets, pEACE
