Hi

I' m a Canadian with a " work in progress" lowrider. I have a ' 79 Continental mark V that I' m working on piece by piece.

I' ve done some ignition upgrades and replaced the exhaust (3" magnaflow duals!!). Next is CARB and intake, then the suspension.

I' m thinking of going for bags ' coz I wanna be able to cruise her around and not destroy my kidneys.

If anyone has contacts around Toronto, I would really appreciate the hook up.

Laters

Hi!

Once I' ve got my scanner working again, I' ll scan some photos of the beast.

A quick description...

She' s a Canadian Lincoln with only 117000 original km' s on her (that' s about 73000 miles). She was owned by a succession of retirees before I got my hands on her, so she was driven to Florida a couple of times and otherwise, to the grocery store or bingo hall! She was in rough shape when I got her, after having been stored for about 4 yeas, the shocks and brakes were totally shot, the rear bumper was hanging off due to a rotten mount, the tires were all cracked and the fuel lines needed replacing. I picked her up for about $1000 USD and spent the same to get her roadworthy.

She' s Wedgwood Blue in colour, with a silver gray vinyl landau roof and the opera windows. She has the factory air (not working), power everything, and the factory sunroof. She' s got the small V8, The 400 CID (6.6 litres) with the 2 barrel. The interior has the " luxury" blue velour with a split bench in the front with 4 way power on both driver and passenger sides.

Upgrades so far have been rather minimal, due to a limited budget and the fact that it costs about $60 US to fill the tank!! I have an Accel SuperStock ignition coil, with the SuperStock plug wires. And I have the Champion upgraded sparkplugs in her. I replaced the exhaust this year when the old single tailpipe fell off... I went with dual Magnaflow, custom bent 3" tubes with polished stainless 22" long cannons out the back. It sounds so sweet. That set me back quite a bit... And just yesterday, I spent some Christmas $$$ on a new JVC deck and Pioneer 4 way 6x9' s to get some half-decent sounds in the ride.

Planned upgrades... Air bags to get her DOWN on the ground. Bodywork to repair some cancer. Paint to update the look. I' m gonna stick with the same colour, ' coz it is SO pimpin. 4 barrel Holley street avenger carb with an Edelbrock intake. Optima battery, trunk mounted. 20" rims (or bigger, if I' ve got the $$$$) with run-flat tires, so I can get some trunk space. Dual 15" subs, 6" rounds in the doors, 2" tweeters on the A pillars, video screen. Replace all the fake wood trim with real veneer and new AC. Shaved handles, remote door poppers and hood/trunk release. Painted engine with chrome EVERYWHERE. Braided hose for everything. I think that' s about it...

I figure it' s going to take me about 3 - 4 years to do it piece by piece. The firs 2 years I' ve had the car, I' ve driven it every day, but now I' m starting to leave it home most days so that I can re-direct the money from paying for gas to paying for parts.

Thanks for the interest!!!
